Star Wars: Hoth

▶ Explore this system live in the app

The Hoth system sits on the fringe of the Ivax Nebula, in the Anoat sector of the Greater Javin region, along the Ison Trade Corridor at the edge of the Outer Rim Territories—the same neighborhood as the Bespin system.

"But sir, the Hoth system is supposed to be devoid of Human forms." The system comprises exactly six planets, the last and outermost of which is the ice world of Hoth. Beyond it lies a wide, chaotic asteroid field whose debris regularly rains meteorites onto the planet below. Hoth's frozen plains and volcanic fissures served as the secret location for the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base during the height of the Galactic Civil War.

Celestial Bodies (11)

Hoth
star · system center · 2,500,000 km diameter
Legends Class B Main Sequence

A blue-white star anchoring six planets in the Anoat sector of the Outer Rim Territories.

Hoth I
planet · orbits Hoth · 42,000,000 km · 3,100 km diameter
Unconfirmed 🪨 Terrestrial 🔥 Scorched

A small, scorched rock positioned dangerously close to the blue-white star. The system's total of six planets is confirmed, though this world is never itself named or described in any source.

Hoth II
planet · orbits Hoth · 75,000,000 km · 5,800 km diameter
Unconfirmed 🪨 Terrestrial Barren

A barren, rocky world lacking any significant atmosphere or active geology.

Hoth III
planet · orbits Hoth · 115,000,000 km · 9,200 km diameter
Unconfirmed 🪨 Terrestrial Thin Atmosphere

A terrestrial world featuring a thin, barely breathable atmosphere.

Hoth IV
planet, gas-giant · orbits Hoth · 195,000,000 km · 75,000 km diameter
Unconfirmed 💨 Gas Giant Ringed

A gas giant surrounded by a small, faint ring system.

Hoth V
planet, gas-giant · orbits Hoth · 260,000,000 km · 85,000 km diameter
Unconfirmed 💨 Gas Giant Jovian

A massive gas giant orbiting in the middle of the Hoth system.

Hoth VI (Hoth)
planet · orbits Hoth · 320,000,000 km · 7,200 km diameter
Canon 🪨 Terrestrial ❄️ Frozen

The famous ice planet and the sixth and outermost of the system's six planets. It features a molten core beneath a surface of frozen oceans and glaciers, regularly pelted by meteorites shed from the asteroid field beyond its orbit.

Hoth VI 1
moon · orbits Hoth VI (Hoth) · 150,000 km · 1,100 km diameter
Unconfirmed Satellite

One of Hoth's three nameless moons. Their combined tidal pull opens fissures in the planet's ice layers, venting jets of subsurface ocean water into the freezing air.

Hoth VI 2
moon · orbits Hoth VI (Hoth) · 300,000 km · 850 km diameter
Unconfirmed Satellite

One of Hoth's three nameless moons, contributing to the tidal stress that fissures the planet's ice.

Hoth VI 3
moon · orbits Hoth VI (Hoth) · 500,000 km · 400 km diameter
Unconfirmed Satellite

The third of Hoth's three nameless moons.

Hoth Asteroid Belt
region · orbits Hoth · 400,000,000 km–550,000,000 km
Legends Planetoid Belt

Also called the Anoat Asteroid Belt, this wide, chaotic field of planetesimals sprawls across both the Hoth and Anoat systems, at the system's farthest orbit. Fragments regularly break off and crash onto Hoth as meteorites.
