The Bespin system lies in the Anoat sector of the Greater Javin region, Outer Rim Territories, along the Ison Trade Corridor.
Sources disagree on its planet count—one says four planets, another says three planets and one asteroid belt—but the two reconcile neatly: Velser's Ring, the system's asteroid belt, is the wreckage of what was once a fourth planet, an unstable gas giant that broke apart long ago. What remains is dominated by the gas giant Bespin, whose thin "Life Zone" supports the floating Tibanna gas mining colony known as Cloud City.

Named for the survey team leader who discovered it, this belt is the wreckage of an unstable gas giant that once occupied the system's third orbit. Composed of refractive frozen gases, it shimmers like a rainbow from certain angles. Ugnaught crews staged out of Shirmar Base mine it for lasers, carbon-freezing units, and tractor beam helix tubes.
A massive Jovian world and home to several million Humans, Ugnaughts, and Lutrillians. Cloud City's pink sky comes from the abundance of floating algae called "pinks" in its upper atmosphere, while a second species called "glowers" gives its night side a faint purplish glow.
Originally the Floating Home Mining Colony, commissioned by Lord Ecclessis Figg with the help of three Ugnaught tribes. Tractor-beam generators funnel Tibanna gas up from more than 23,000 km down in Bespin's atmosphere, through the reactor stalk for processing.
